dominique + serena is a multidisciplinary architectural studio founded by Dominique Hauderowicz and Kristian Ly Serena. We are especially interested in the social potentials of architecture and the build environment.

We are extremely humbled and incredibly happy to share that we have been chosen as the curators for the Danish Pavillon for the 20th Architecture biennale taking place in Venice in 2027.

For the first time ever, the curator for the Danish pavillon has been found through an entirely open process, and we would like to pay tribute to the major institutions that have opened themselves up to the possiblity of uncertaintly, new ideas and surprise! Thank you so much to the jury, representing the Danish Architecture Centre, the Danish Arts Foundation, Realdania and the Ministry of Culture. It feels meaningful to us, that this open process has resulted in us being chosen alongside an incredible team, representing not only different fields of expertise, but also a variety of backgrounds and age-groups.

Since its founding in 1980, the biennale has been a place for developing ideas, setting agendas and inspecting current trends within our field. Taking the acute climate crisis as point of departure, we are very eager to unfold a broad experimental process over the coming years, pushing for change towards an socio-ecological approach to architecture.
